Fire Engines
Scotland's greatest band. Before the Jesus & Mary Chain
caused riots over meagre 15 minute sets the Fire Engines
bashed through 10 minute sets to mere dropped jaws. Influenced
by funk as much as punk and eschewing anything as
straightforward as tunes and melodies they put all opposition
to the sword. "Candyskin" rules supreme over Scottish rock.
It is a record that makes everything else produced
in Scotland seem small and that includes the later
works of auteur Davey Henderson. |
